Kevin Kish attended Bemidji State University from 1974 until 1979 and studied business administration and education. While attending BSU, Kevin was a four year letter winner in wrestling. He was national champion in the 118-pound weight class in 1976 and 1978, and was seeded number one in the national tournament as a senior. Kevin was also selected as a NAIA All-American in 1976 and 1978.
Kish helped lead Bemidji State to a 1976 Northern Intercollegiate Conference title as the Beavers went 12-2-0 overall, while BSU was second in both 1975 and 1977. Individually, Kish earned the NIC 118-pound title in 1978 and was second in 1975 and 1976. The 1977 and 1978 team captain was a recipient of the NIC’s Outstanding Wrestler Award in 1978.
Kish finished his collegiate career with a record of 62 wins and 10 losses. Following his four year eligibility at BSU, and second national championship, Kish was selected to represent Bemidji State and the United States on an NAIA wrestling team that toured Japan and Korea. He shared his passion for sports by assisting and coaching youth programs in his early years and remains active in his Anoka High School wrestling alumni club.
Kevin currently lives in Maple Grove, Minn. with his wife, Pamela.
