Raymond Sauer

Ray Sauer is a 1970 graduate of Bemidji State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education and Health. Since graduation, Raymond has pursued a lifelong interest in golf along with a thirty-two year sales career in life insurance and retirement investments. His insurance career began in Bemidji with Rod Pickett & Associates as a Fidelity Union Life agent from 1971-1979. Then, Raymond moved to St. Cloud and became a general agent with Fidelity Union Life until 1990, and was inducted into its Hall of Fame in 1988. From 1994-2000, he was connected with Hammer & Associates, and left that agency to start his own in 2002: Ray Sauer Insurance and Financial. Also an avid golfer, Raymond is a member of the Saint Cloud Country Club and is a six-time club champion. He also won the Birchmont in 1971 and the Minnesota Golf Association senior Four-Ball Championship in 2002 with his twin brother, Ed. In August, Raymond placed second in the Minnesota Golf Association Senior Amateur Championship. In 1981, Raymond married Kathy Hayes. He has one daughter, Erin, from a previous marriage, and one granddaughter, Francesca. Raymond and Kathy have three sons: Joe, Justin, and Jon.
