Chuck Scanlon graduated from Bemidji State University in 1975 and joined the Apple Valley High School teaching and coaching staff as head soccer coach and assistant hockey coach that same year. He was promoted to head hockey coach in 1993. In soccer, Chuck led his team to sixteen Conference Titles, twelve Sectional Championships, six State Championships, and was nominated for National Coach of the Year in 1984 and 1992. He was elected to the Minnesota Soccer Coaches Hall of Fame in 1997, has been a member of the Minnesota State Coaches Association for twenty-nine years, and also coached the Minnesota State Coaches All Star Game in 1984, 1986, and 1992. As a hockey coach, Chuck has led his players to two State Titles, two Sectional Titles, and two Conference Titles. Which coaching at Apple Valley, Chuck has received fifteen Golden Apple Awards for outstanding athletic excellence.
