Anne Pavlik

SPORT(S) Field Hockey, Volleyball, Basketball, Track and Field

Anne Pavlik, a 1974 graduate of Bemidji State University, was a four-sport athlete competing in field hockey, volleyball, basketball and track and field. She lettered twice in field hockey, once in basketball and four times in track and field where she was the AIAW State Champion in the javelin throw in 1973. She was a graduate assistant and assistant volleyball coach at St. Cloud State University from 1979-80. Anne is beginning her 29th year as an physical education teacher at Walker-Hackensack-Akeley High School where she was head volleyball coach for 20 years and also coached track and field. Her win-loss record as a volleyball coach is 278-149. She was named conference coach of the year in 1988 and 1989. Her achievements include a third-place state finish in 1978, three Region 8 tournament appearances, three district championships and nine district second-place finishes. As a track and field coach at WHA from 1984-91, she coached several state track meet competitors, including the 1991 Girl's Class A discus champion. Anne has been active in coaching associations at all levels and was a the President of the Minnesota Volleyball Coaches Associations from 1989-91 and a member of the National American Volleyball Coaches Association from 1990-96. She currently officiates volleyball with the Minnesota State High School League and in the past has been a NAGWS state-rated official for college volleyball and basketball.
