Diane Pettis, a 1976 graduate of Bemidji State University, competed on BSU championship teams in volleyball, track and field and basketball. She was a member of the 1975 Minn-Kota Championship volleyball team, the MAIAW State Track and Field Championship teams in 1974 and 1975, and a member of the Minn-Kota Championship basketball teams in 1974 and 1976. She played as a guard on the basketball team and competed in javelin and other field events in track and field. Diane has taught and coached at Sebeka High School since 1976 where she is the head coach in volleyball and softball, was the head coach in track and field from 1977-90 and the head basketball coach from 1983-85. She has 300-plus wins as a volleyball coach and has coached eight Park Regional Conference Championship teams of which four were in volleyball, three in softball and one in basketball. In addition, she coached the sub-section softball champions in 1999 and 2001. Diane directs summer volleyball camps and clinics and is active with elementary programs in volleyball, basketball and softball. In 2000, she was named to the BSU Women's Athletics All 30th Anniversary Team as one of the top 30 best women athletes in BSU history. She and her husband, Norm, have a 13-year-old son, Jeremy.
