Ken Babe Sherman lettered twice in both football and basketball while at Bemidji State. He was Second Team All Conference in 1948 and 1949 in football and let the scoring for the Beavers 1948-49 basketball squad. He has coached high school football, basketball, tennis, and golf. His golf teams won conference championships in 1990 and 1991, the latter year placing 14th in the NCAA Division IV Tournament.  During the course of his career in education, Sherman serves as athletic director for Cope Junior High School for 16 years, as league commissioner for 12 years, and as assistant principal for six years. He was selected as one of the top 20 basketball players for Hibbing Junior College from 1942-1967.
