Frank Kopetka was a 1975 graduate from BSU with a degree in physical education and health. While at BSU, Frank was a four year letter winner in basketball. He was selected as team co-captain in 1975 and was named Team Most Valuable Player the same year. He was the team's leading scorer his sophomore, junior and senior years and continues to hold the BSU record for the top field goal scorer in a single game with 17. He is also 7th in the BSU record charts for career leading scorer with 1,272 points and holds both 9th and 10th places for highest single game scores. Frank was selected All Conference in 1973, 1974 and 1975 and received Honorable Mention honors as All American in 1975. Upon graduating, Frank began a 30+ year career in teaching and coaching at Salk Jr. High School in Elk River, Minn. There he successfully coached both boys and girls basketball, softball and tennis. He was inducted into the Elk River High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2008 and is now retired from teaching. Frank and his wife, Cindy have two children and live in Rogers, Minn.
