Al Wolden
Al Wolden graduated from Bemidji State in 1988 with a degree in physical education. While at BSU, he was a four year letter winner in football. A running back, Wolden piled up 3,790 all purpose yards during his career, which included a career-best of 1,452 yards rushing in 1986, which still ranks fourth at BSU all-time. In addition, he scored 37 career touchdowns.  As a senior he was selected All-Conference, All-District 13, All-America and the Bemidji Pioneer College Athlete of the Year.

Also a three-year letterwinner on the BSU track and field team, Wolden excelled in the high jump and long jump, holding the BSU long jump title for eight years.

Upon graduation, Wolden continued his football career, signing a free agent contract with the Chicago Bears. The following year, Al signed a free agent contract with the New York Jets, but was released prior to the start of the season.

Returning to the Bemidji, Minn. area, Wolden began his teaching and coaching career at Cass Lake-Bena High School, where he spent nine years teaching physical education and coaching football, basketball and track and field. His track and field teams participated in the state meet three times during the early 1990s. In 1999, Wolden accepted a position at Red Lake High School, where he continues to teach physical education today.

Wolden resides in Bemidji, Minn. with his wife Jackie and their two young sons Hunter and Tanner.
