Bemidji State has 29 student-athletes cited by NSIC for academic success

Bemidji State University landed 29 student-athletes on the 2019 Spring Academic All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Team, while 17 of those were also tabbed for NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence accolades, announced by the league office May 16.


Norton and Baudry named Bemidji State's Athletes of the Year

Bemidji State University Soccer captain Rachael Norton and Justin Baudry, of the BSU Men’s Hockey Team, were named 2018-19 Female and Male Athletes of the Year as part of the Beaver Nation Celebration athletic appreciation banquet Thursday at the Beaux Arts Ballroom. The award winners were selected from a pool of nominated student-athletes from all 15 of BSU’s intercollegiate sport programs.


Howe-Welle Women's Athletics Golf Tournament set for Aug. 23

The Howe-Welle Women’s Athletics Golf Tournament is set for August 23 at the Bemidji Town and Country Club. Formerly known as the Lady Beaver Tournament the golf outing returns as one of the events scheduled for the 50th Anniversary of BSU Women’s Athletics Celebration weekend Aug. 23–25, 2019.


Bemidji State inducts 26th Athletic Hall of Fame class

Over 200 alumni, faculty, staff and friends attended the 2019 Bemidji State University B Club Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Brunch Feb. 16. The ceremony recognized alumni, former coaches, administrators and others who have excelled at their sports and brought acclaim to the university through their accomplishments and championships.


Renovated training center gives BemidjiState year-round practice facility

A crowd of nearly 200 student-athletes, staff and friends gathered Feb. 15 in Bemidji State University’s John S. Glas Fieldhouse to formally dedicate the newly refurbished Frederick P. Baker Training Center.


BRN announcer Kelly Schultz earns Kwame McDonald Media Award

Beaver Radio Network play-by-play announcer Kelly Schultz was named the 2019 Kwame McDonald Media Award winner by the Minnesota Coalition of Women in Athletic Leadership. The award is given to members of the media who have supported and promoted girls’ and women’s sports.


Bemidji State joins forces for Take 5 to Give 5 to Make-A-Wish

On Wednesday, December 5th the NSIC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will hold its first ever “Take 5 to Give 5” initiative. The initiative is aimed at encouraging people to take 5 minutes and give $5 to Make-A-Wish. Each of the NSIC’s 16 institutions will be working to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation on the 5th.
