Over 140 friends, fans and alumni of Bemidji State Athletics gathered at the Bemidji Town & Country Club June 21 for the 42nd Annual Gordy Skaar Memorial Golf Tournament. The annual event raised $30,000 for the Beavers.
The 42nd Annual Gordy Skaar Memorial Golf Tournament is set for Friday, June 21 at Bemidji Town and Country Club and it’s not too late to participate. Registration materials for men and women are now being accepted until July 11th for the event to benefit the Bemidji State University Athletic Scholarship Fund.
Tracy Dill, director of intercollegiate athletics at Bemidji State University, today announced that Dallas Charles has been named head coach of BSU’s strength and conditioning program.
Bemidji State University landed 29 student-athletes on the 2019 Spring Academic All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Team, while 17 of those were also tabbed for NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence accolades, announced by the league office May 16.
Bemidji State University Soccer captain Rachael Norton and Justin Baudry, of the BSU Men’s Hockey Team, were named 2018-19 Female and Male Athletes of the Year as part of the Beaver Nation Celebration athletic appreciation banquet Thursday at the Beaux Arts Ballroom. The award winners were selected from a pool of nominated student-athletes from all 15 of BSU’s intercollegiate sport programs.
The Howe-Welle Women’s Athletics Golf Tournament is set for August 23 at the Bemidji Town and Country Club. Formerly known as the Lady Beaver Tournament the golf outing returns as one of the events scheduled for the 50th Anniversary of BSU Women’s Athletics Celebration weekend Aug. 23–25, 2019.
Over 200 alumni, faculty, staff and friends attended the 2019 Bemidji State University B Club Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Brunch Feb. 16. The ceremony recognized alumni, former coaches, administrators and others who have excelled at their sports and brought acclaim to the university through their accomplishments and championships.
A crowd of nearly 200 student-athletes, staff and friends gathered Feb. 15 in Bemidji State University’s John S. Glas Fieldhouse to formally dedicate the newly refurbished Frederick P. Baker Training Center.
Beaver Radio Network play-by-play announcer Kelly Schultz was named the 2019 Kwame McDonald Media Award winner by the Minnesota Coalition of Women in Athletic Leadership. The award is given to members of the media who have supported and promoted girls’ and women’s sports.
