BSU and Lakeland Public Television make broadcasting agreement

Bemidji State University men’s hockey has a new television home. Today, Lakeland Public Television General Manger Bill Sanford along with Bemidji State Director of Athletics Dr. Rick Goeb announced that organizations have reached a two-year agreement to televise all BSU men’s ice hockey home games.


Bemidji State and RP Broadcasting reach agreement for radio coverage

Bemidji State University Director of Athletics Dr. Rick Goeb today announced that the university has reached an agreement with the stations of RP Broadcasting to extend one of the region’s most comprehensive collegiate athletic radio contracts for the 2010-11 athletic year.

Beaver Basketball camps draw area youth

The Bemidji State Gymnasium was overrun with youth this week as more than 60 basketball players entering grades first to sixth participated the Beavers annual summer basketball camps.


Team Captains meeting planned for BSU's second annual Walk for Women

Bemidji State hosts Galen Nagle Memorial Golf Tournament

Over 150 fans, alumni and friends of the Bemidji State University men's ice hockey program gathered at the Bemidji Town and Country Club July 16 to raise funds for the Beaver hockey program while participating in the Galen Nagle Memorial Golf Tournament.


Alstrom named to 2010 NSIC Hall of Fame class

On Wednesday, July 14, Bemidji State University graduate Susan Alstrom will join seven others being honored as the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) holds its 2010 Hall of Fame induction ceremony in conjunction with its 11th annual summer kickoff. The event will take place at 7 p.m. at the Best Western Kelly Inn in St. Cloud, Minn.


2010 Wells Fargo/Gordy Skaar Memorial Golf Tournament

The 33rd annual Wells Fargo/Gordy Skarr Memorial golf tournament was conducted June 18 at the Bemidji Town and Country Club. The event hosted 215 golfers that raised approximately $24,000 for men's athletics at Bemidji State.

The 33rd Annual Wells Fargo/Gordy Skaar Memorial Golf Tournament is set for Friday, June 18 at Bemidji Town and Country Club in Bemidji, Minn. Registration materials are still being accepted for the event to benefit BSU men’s scholarship fund.

Buerkle and Preble named Bemidji State Student-Athletes of the Year

Bemidji State University sprinter Kristi Buerkle (Jr., Stacy, Minn.) and multi-event athlete Zac Preble (Sr., Coleraine, Minn.) were named as the 2009-10 Bemidji State University Female and Male Student-Athletes of the Year, tonight at the BSU Student-Athlete Appreciation Banquet. The duo of track and field All-America performers were selected from a pool of nominated student-athletes from BSU’s 17 intercollegiate sport programs.

The Bemidji State University men’s and women’s track and field programs are the focus of this week’s Beaver Pride Athlete of the Week selections. Junior sprinter Kristi Buerkle (Stacy, Minn.) has been named female athlete of the week, while Zac Preble (Coleraine, Minn.), a senior multi-event athlete, has been picked for the organization’s male honor after outstanding athletic accomplishments during the week of April 19-25.

‘Open Hearts for Haiti’ to take place at BSU this weekend

January 12, 2010 a 7.0 earthquake struck Haiti devastating the tiny country. Corinne Milien, a Bemidji State student born to Haitian immigrants, along with her family were hit especially hard by the tragedy. The event motivated Milien to do something positive to lend assistants to Haiti and together with the BSU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) has created ‘Open Hearts for Haiti.’


Dale, Silvernagel and Steinke earn NSIC Myles Brand All-Academic with Distinction award

Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Commissioner Butch Raymond today announced that Bemidji State University’s Josh Dale (Sr., Cross Lake, Minn.), Josh Silvernagel (Sr., Bismarck, N.D.) and Farrah Steinke (Sr., Bismarck, N.D.) have been selected as recipients of the inaugural NSIC Myles Brand All-Academic with Distinction Award.


Bemidji State names Ben Baird Assistant Track and Field Coach

Bemidji State University Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Dr. Rick Goeb today announced the addition of Benjamin Baird to the track and field coaching staff. Baird will serve as the assistant track and field coach for both the men’s and women’s programs at the University.
