NCAA men’s hockey regional featured on Sports in the Round
BEMIDJI, Minn.  -- The weekly radio show, “Sports in the Round,” which is held on Wednesday evenings from 6-8 p.m. at The Ground Round, will this week feature the NCAA men’s hockey regional. A slew of guests, past and present, are scheduled for the show that will discuss the BSU men’s hockey team as it prepares to battle Michigan at the 2010 NCAA Men’s Hockey Midwest Regional in Fort Wayne, Ind., March 27. The Beavers (23-9-4) are the No. 2-seed in the Midwest Region, while the Wolverines (25-17-1) are the No. 3-seed. The game will be played at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum beginning at 6:30 p.m. CT on

Head men’s coach Tom Serratore will be the guest for most of the first hour to talk about the Beavers’ fourth appearance at the NCAA post-season tournament since the program moved to Division I for the 1999-2000 season.

The second half of the program will feature former BSU players with some NCAA experience.

Also appearing on the show is Alabama-Huntsville’s head men’s hockey coach Danton Cole. The Chargers won the 2010 College Hockey America tournament and earned an automatic bid in the NCAA Tournament. UAH is matched-up in the Midwest Regional against the overall No. 1-seed, Miami (Ohio). The Chargers play at 3 p.m. CT Saturday.
