BEMIDJI, Minn. – Bemidji State University unveiled a redesigned BSUBeavers.com this morning in partnership with Streamline Technologies. The redesigned site will continue to deliver the news and information fans have come to expect but seeks to meet the user where they are and make it more convenient than ever to follow the Beavers.
“In this day and age, people are changing the way they consume information,” said Director of Athletic Media Relations Brad Folkestad. “We redesigned BSUBeavers.com with that in mind.”
“We worked hard to integrate social media, video and photography into this site to help us better tell the story of Bemidji State Athletics, our programs, coaches and student-athletes.” He added, “With more than half of all of our web site visits coming from mobile devices, the new BSUBeavers.com is fully-responsive and designed with the mobile user in mind.”
The landing page of BSUBeavers.com is divided into three sections. Below the standard navigation bar, the top section features BSU Athletics’ six most recent stories. A scroll or swipe down brings you to a composite schedule of events. Each event has continent links to live stats, audio, video and tickets of upcoming events, while recent events contain links to box scores and recaps. The third section, located at the bottom of the main page, is the new social media wall. This section compiles the stories, images, infographics, photo galleries and more from all of BSU’s Athletes’ social media channels.
The new site also features enhanced event recaps. These recaps revolve around large action photos and deliver the story of BSU’s events in several methods, providing links to highlights, photo galleries, line scores, box scores and post game interviews.
“The idea behind this redesign was to deliver our story to our fans in the format they feel most comfortable consuming,” said Folkestad. “Any single option will get the fan the information they seek, but we also wanted to enable them to dig in as deeply as they would like to get every detail.”
