Morgan Fox was hired as an assistant coach to the women's volleyball team at Bemidji State in 2016.
In her first season at Bemidji State the team ended the season with a 7-22 overall record and a 3-17 conference record. During the 2016 season, two seniors, Jess Yost and Amanda Tronick, both finished their careers with over 1,000 kills. Yost also set a new program record for career kills with 3,381 and earned her first All-NSIC honor. The team was among the top half in the conference in blocking and had six players named on the 2016 Fall Academic All-NSIC Team.
Fox comes to BSU after serving as a Graduate Assistant at Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Ill. from 2014-16. While at Olivet, Fox assisted Head Coach Brenda Williams lead the Tigers to a 24-19 record in 2015, a seven-win improvement over 2014 (17-26). In addition, Olivet posted a 17-2 record in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference play, en rout to a CCAC regular season title and a berth into the NAIA National Tournament. During her two seasons at Olivet, Becky DeRuiter earned NAIA All-American honors; eight players were selected to the All-CCAC team, including Co-Player of the Year, DeRuiter, and five players earned Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes Awards, including Renee Enz in 2015.
A 2014 graduate of Bethel College (Ind.), Fox earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration, while earning four letters playing volleyball for Ulmer. She finished her Pilot career with 2,913 assists (fifth all-time), 176 service aces (fifth all-time) and 1,266 digs. As a senior, the two-time All-Crossroads Team selection was a part of a Bethel team that posted a 27-14 overall with a 14-2 mark in Crossroads League play to clinch the regular season title and a second straight berth into the NCCAA National Tournament. That season she logged 1,518 assists, 431 digs and a team-best 42 service aces and was named as the Crossroads League Setter of the Year, NAIA All-American Honorable Mention and a NCCAA All-American Second Team member. She also received the NCCAA’s prestigious Susan R Hellings Award in 2013.
She earned her master’s degree in organizational leadership from Olivet in the spring of 2016.
In addition to her experiences at Olivet and Bethel, Fox also has coaching experience as a part of the First Contact Volleyball Club (2012-14), as a certified instructor at Bring Your Own Parent (2015-16), as well as spending the summer of 2013 in the Dominican Republic where she served as Volleyball Camp Coordinator for Students International.
