Volunteer Assistant Coach
Dan Bennett is in his third season as an assistant coach of the Bemidji State baseball team after spending five seasons as a student-athlete for the Beavers.
During the summer of 2012, Bennett was the head coach of the VFW Post 1260 (Ages 16 and under) baseball team that went 24-7 and made an appearance in the VFW State Tournament.
Bennett served as games management graduate assistant at BSU from 2010-12. He was responsible for setting up, tearing down and staffing all BSU athletic events.
During his last year as an undergrad, he assisted with games management and started 30 out of the 32 games played, serving as the team’s catcher. He has spent the last six summers in Bemidji, where he was on the grounds crew at the BSU baseball field.
Bennett, a native of Hayfield, Minn., is a 2010 graduate of BSU and obtained a degree in technology education with a coaching specialty. He earned a masters degree in sports studies from Bemidji State in 2013.
