The Bemidji State University baseball program hosts a midweek doubleheader against University of Mary before a home-and-home series against St. Cloud State University Friday and Sunday. The Beavers and Marauders throw first pitch at 1 p.m. from BSU Baseball Field before BSU and SCSU plays at 2 p.m. Saturday in Bemidji, Minn., and 2 p.m. Sunday in St. Cloud, Minn.
Senior Scott Litchy made history for the Bemidji State University baseball program Monday afternoon while recording his 208th career hit and moving into first place all-time for the team. The record-setting moment came in the second game of a sweep to Wayne State College at BSU Baseball Field.
The bats came alive Sunday afternoon for the Bemidji State University baseball program as the team totaled 21 runs and five home runs to split against Wayne State College in the BSU home opener. Senior Scott Litchy recorded three and freshman Parker Borg hit two of the Beavers’ (5-27, 3-13 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference) home runs, including a grand slam and six-RBI performance by Litchy in game one against the Wildcats (13-19, 11-11 NSIC).
The official 2018 home opening weekend for the Bemidji State University baseball program has been pushed back one day in an effort to reach improved field conditions at BSU Baseball Field. BSU will host Wayne State College at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 22 and at 12 p.m. Monday, April 23 while the program also added a non-conference doubleheader at home against University of Minnesota Crookston on Thursday, May 3.
Freshman Caleb Carlson was one of two players for the Bemidji State University baseball team to record a three-hit game Thursday despite loses of 10-5 and 13-7 to Minot State University in Minot, N.D. Carlson reached base five times during game two and seven times on the day as the Beavers fall to 4-26 overall and 2-12 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.
The Bemidji State University baseball program returns to its road schedule with a mid-week doubleheader at Minot State University before a four-game series at home against Wayne State College. BSU and MiSU begin their doubleheader at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in Minot, N.D. while the Beavers are scheduled to play their first home game at 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday against the Wildcats.
The Bemidji State University baseball program put up extra-base hits Monday afternoon in a doubleheader against Minnesota State University Mankato but fell in losses of 5-1 and 8-4. The Beavers (4-24, 2-10 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference) were forced to move their doubleheader against the Mavericks to Crookston, Minn., due to poor weather and field conditions in Mankato, Minn.
Senior Scott Litchy found his stroke during the Bemidji State University baseball program’s final game of its four-game series at University of Minnesota Crookston Sunday in Crookston, Minn. Litchy finished the last game of the day 3-for-4 from the plate with two home runs despite a second Beavers’ (4-22, 2-8 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference) loss on the day to the Golden Eagles.
University of Minnesota Crookston opened up the four-game series against Bemidji State University with two wins as BSU fell, 4-2 and 12-0, Saturday afternoon at UMC Baseball Field in Crookston, Minn. Freshman pitcher Trevyn Wells set a team-high eight strikeouts in game two against the Golden Eagles.
Additional snow has caused the third series in a row to be cancelled for the Bemidji State University baseball team and pushed back another series scheduled for Saturday, April 14 and Sunday, April 15. BSU will now travel to face University of Minnesota Crookston in four non-conference games Saturday and Sunday, and is now scheduled to face Minnesota State University Monday, April 16 in Superior, Wis.
