Over 140 friends, fans and alumni of Bemidji State Athletics gathered at the Bemidji Town & Country Club June 21 for the 42nd Annual Gordy Skaar Memorial Golf Tournament. The annual event raised $30,000 for the Beavers.

Grancorvitz sparks late rally that falls short in season finale at UMD

Junior Isaiah Grancorvitz helped give the Bemidji State University baseball team a late spark Saturday afternoon in its season-finale doubleheader against University of Minnesota Duluth with a sixth-inning, game-tying home run in game two. The Beavers fell to the Bulldogs in both games on the day, 12-2 and 4-3, to finish their 2019 campaign.


Palafox dazzles as Beaver Baseball splits opening day of series at Bulldogs

Senior pitcher Jesse Palafox threw lights out Friday afternoon to help Bemidji State University baseball to a split on the opening day of its four-game series at University of Minnesota Duluth. The Beavers took a 3-2 win, its first against the Bulldogs since 2013, before a 12-2 loss to set its overall record at 8-36 and its mark in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference at 6-25.


BSU’s furious comeback shut down in losses at Minot State

The Bemidji State University baseball team showed its grit with a furious comeback attempt Wednesday afternoon that fell just short in losses at University of Minot State. BSU fell behind early in a 10-3 loss before scoring six eighth-inning runs in a 12-10 loss to MiSU at Corbett Field in Minot, N.D.

The 2019 Bemidji State University baseball season concludes with a six-game road trip, beginning May 1 at Minot State University and May 3-4 at University of Minnesota Duluth. Lesinski, Riedel named Senior Players to Watch for Beaver Baseball

BEMIDJI, Minn. -- Bemidji State University baseball head coach Tim Bellew announced Monday that pitcher Mark Lesinski and outfielder/pitcher Logan Riedel as the program's 2017 Senior Players to Watch. Lesinski, in his second season with the Beavers, returns with the team's most games appeared in on the mound last season while Riedel, entering his fourth season with BSU, featured the pitching staff's lowest earned run average and the outfield's highest fielding percentage in 2016.

Bemidji State baseball set to host Green/White and Alumni Games Sept. 29

The Bemidji State University baseball team has announced its plans for BSU Homecoming Weekend Sept. 27-29. The Beavers will host a Green/White scrimmage Sunday, Sept. 29 at 9:30 a.m., followed by an alumni game at 12:30 p.m. Both games will take place at the BSU Baseball Field and are free and open to the public.


McKechney set to be inducted into Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame

Ronald McKechney played baseball and hockey at Bemidji State University from 1959-61 and for his efforts was named into the Bemidji State Athletics Hall of Fame in 1988. Now, the former Beaver student-athlete and coach is set to be inducted into the individual category of the Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame, as a player, Aug. 17.

Bemidji State University junior Jack Hegarty (RHP/INF, Brainerd, Minn.) joined the Willmar Stingers of the Northwoods League Wednesday as a relief pitcher. Kalis earns Daktronics All-America Third Team honors

Muron finding summer success after missing BSU season due to illness

Junior right-hander Brett Muron (Winnipeg, Manitoba) pitched just four innings for the Bemidji State University baseball team in 2012 due to a illness that kept him out of the line-up for the rest of the season. Friday, July 13, Muron set a Manitoba Junior Baseball League (MJBL) single-season strikeout record, while pitching for his hometown team.


Braun honored as NCBWA All-America Second Team member

New bat standard in college baseball

A new bat standard adopted by the NCAA, effective January 2011, could help the pitching staff of the Bemidji State University baseball team keep baseballs inside the confines of the ballpark this season. After watching 67 homeruns fly over the outfield fence in 53 games played, a new bat standard called BBCOR (Batted Ball Coefficient of Restitution) has changed the way manufactures make their aluminum and composite bats, resulting in a decrease in bat performance by 10-15 percent.

The award is the first of his career and it marks the second league honor of the season for the Beavers.

Beavers picked 11th in NSIC Preseason Coaches’ Poll

The Bemidji State baseball team is ranked 11th in the 2010 edition of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Preseason Coaches’ Poll, receiving 51 points. The Beavers went 17-36 overall and 8-22 in NSIC play last season, finishing in 11th place. Senior Josh Silvernagel (SS/RHP, Bismark, N.D.) and junior Ryan Sander (RHP/1B, St. James, Minn.) were named BSU’s players to watch.
