3/10/2010 - BASEBALL Beavers move to eighth in NCBWA central region poll |
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- The Bemidji State University baseball team jumped up a spot in the March 9 edition of the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Division II Central Region poll, moving to eighth.
The Beavers are 9-7 this season, playing all 16 games at the H.H.H. Metrodome in Minneapolis. In its last action, BSU split a four-game nonconference doubleheader with Minnesota State University, Mankato, which sits second in the poll, at Metrodome March 2-3. The Beavers fell in the first doubleheader 6-0 and 3-1, but bounced back the second day to earn 4-3 and 5-1 victories.
BSU was scheduled to play at No. 8 Emporia State University March 9-10, but the games were canceled due to rain and wet field conditions. The Beavers are slated to play a nine inning contest versus Arkansas Tech March 11 at 7 p.m. in Russellville, Ark.
