Beavers fall in 2010 season finale

The Bemidji State University baseball team was swept by Montana State University Billings Saturday in its 2010 season finale. The Beavers lost 9-8 and 12-3 in their final contests, playing two nine inning nonconference games.


Baseball doubleheader canceled

Friday’s nonconference doubleheader between Bemidji State University and Montana State University Billings has been canceled due to inclement weather and unplayable field conditions in Billings. The games will not be rescheduled, but Saturday’s doubleheader will now be two nine inning games, originally two seven inning contests, and will begin at 1 p.m. at Dehler Park.


Marauders end Bemidji State’s conference season with sweep

The Bemidji State University baseball team closed the 2010 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference season Wednesday at University of Mary, getting swept 9-8 in 10 innings and 7-4. The Beavers finish with a league record of 7-25.


Bauer honored with NSIC Pitcher of the Week award

Junior right-hander Dan Bauer (Bemidji, Minn.) has been named Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Pitcher of the Week by the league office, after posting a strong effort on the bump for Bemidji State in a 7-3 victory against University of Mary April 21. It is the second conference award of the season and of his career, as Bauer earned NSIC Player of the Week laurels Feb. 24.

The Bemidji State University baseball team's 2010 home finale was spoiled Tuesday, as Jamestown College came to the BSU Baseball Field and took two from the BSU. The Jimmies won game one 10-1 and game two 5-4 in nine innings, sweeping the road-weary Beavers.

The Bemidji State baseball team is ranked 11th in the 2010 edition of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Preseason Coaches’ Poll, receiving 51 points. The Beavers went 17-36 overall and 8-22 in NSIC play last season, finishing in 11th place.
