Braun honored as NCBWA All-America Second Team member

Bemidji State University sophomore catcher Zach Braun (C, Lakeville, Minn.) earned his second All-America award of the 2012 postseason Tuesday, as the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) honored him as a 2012 NCBWA Division II All-America Second Team member. He is the first BSU baseball player to earn an All-America award from NCBWA.


Braun named Daktronics All-America Second Team

Bemidji State University sophomore catcher Zach Braun (C, Lakeville, Minn.) was named to the 2012 Daktronics NCAA Division II Baseball All-America Second Team today. He is the first BSU baseball player to earn an All-America award from Daktronics and was one of three sophomores on the first, second or third teams.

Kalis lifts BSU to doubleheader sweep of SMSU and over 20-win plateau

Junior Logan Kalis (RHP/1B/OF, Little Falls, Minn.) posted a career day and lifted the Bemidji State University baseball team to a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference doubleheader sweep of Southwest Minnesota State University Tuesday at the BSU Baseball Field. Kalis went 7-for-9 with 10 RBIs, seven runs scored and four homers at the plate and win on the mound in game two, as the Beavers won 8-1 and 14-8 to surpass 20 wins in 2012.


Braun named NSIC Player of the Week

Bemidji State University sophomore Zach Braun (C, Lakeville, Minn.) has been named Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Player of the Week by the league office, after a strong performance at the plate April 25, 28-29. The weekly conference honor is the first for Braun and the second for BSU since the 2010 season.


Home finale remains May 1 with 1 p.m. start

Junior Lewis Baumann found his way to Bemidji State in 2009 by the way of Colorado Springs, Colo. and has emerged as the Beavers’ starting shortstop and top small-ball player.
