McKechney set to be inducted into Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame

Ronald McKechney played baseball and hockey at Bemidji State University from 1959-61 and for his efforts was named into the Bemidji State Athletics Hall of Fame in 1988. Now, the former Beaver student-athlete and coach is set to be inducted into the individual category of the Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame, as a player, Aug. 17.


Beavers in summer college wood bat leagues

Bemidji State University junior Jack Hegarty (RHP/INF, Brainerd, Minn.) joined the Willmar Stingers of the Northwoods League Wednesday as a relief pitcher. Kalis earns Daktronics All-America Third Team honors

Bemidji State senior Logan Kalis (1B/OF/RHP, Little Falls, Minn.) became the second BSU baseball player to be named All-American in two years Friday, as he was placed on the Daktronics NCAA Division II Baseball All-America Third Team. Kalis earned All-American status at utility/pitcher, a category added in 2013 for student-athletes who excel in the field and on the mound.

Bats come alive in 8-1 game two victory to split doubleheader with USF

The Bemidji State University baseball team scored more runs and matched its hitting totals from the three previous contests in an 8-1 game two victory against University of Sioux Falls Saturday. BSU fell in game one 2-1 to split the doubleheader and conclude the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Metrodome Classic 1-3.


Beavers fall to Northern State in season opener, 4-2 and 7-2

The Bemidji State University baseball team went 0-2 to begin the 2013 season with a pair of losses to Northern State University in a nonconference doubleheader at the H.H.H. Metrodome in Minneapolis, Minn. BSU fell 4-2 in game one and 7-2 in game two in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Metrodome Baseball Classic.


Beavers begin 2013 season Friday

The wait is over. After a grueling fall season and the claustrophobic feeling of playing baseball indoors for the past six weeks, the Bemidji State University baseball team opens the 2013 season Friday at the H.H.H. Metrodome in Minneapolis, Minn. The Beavers will take their first swings at the new season at 10:45 a.m. in a nonconference doubleheader with Northern State University.

The Collegiate Baseball Newspaper has released its 2013 preview edition and inside was a list of 2013 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) NCAA Division II Preseason All-Americans. Included as an ABCA Preseason All-American from the Central Region were Bemidji State’s Zach Braun (Jr., C/1B, Lakeville, Minn.) and Logan Kalis (Sr., 1B/RHP/1B, Little Falls, Minn.).


Beaver baseball begins 2013 season

The Bemidji State University baseball team began the 2013 season Monday with its first full practice. BSU has a month to prepare for its first game Feb. 15 versus Northern State University at the H.H.H. Metrodome.

Head Bemidji State University baseball coach Tim Bellew has announced the 2013 baseball schedule. The Beavers begin the season Feb. 15 at H.H.H. Metrodome in Minneapolis and open Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play March 23 in Winona, Minn.


Bemidji State baseball Green/White and Alumni Game set for Sept. 30

The Bemidji State University baseball team is holding a Green/White scrimmage Sunday at 9:45 a.m., followed by an Alumni game at 12:30 p.m. and an Area Youth High School All-Star Game at 3:30 p.m.


Former BSU outfielder represents America in international tournament

Born in Venezuela, former BSU outfielder Juan Molero came to the United States for a college education and to play baseball. After four-years of playing collegiate baseball and competing in a summer wood bat league, Molero got the opportunity to not only represent USA for the American International Sports Teams (AIST), but help it win the 2012 Prague Baseball Week Tournament.


Muron finding summer success after missing BSU season due to illness

Junior right-hander Brett Muron (Winnipeg, Manitoba) pitched just four innings for the Bemidji State University baseball team in 2012 due to a illness that kept him out of the line-up for the rest of the season. Friday, July 13, Muron set a Manitoba Junior Baseball League (MJBL) single-season strikeout record, while pitching for his hometown team.
