BEMIDJI, Minn. – A bleak weather forecast for Mankato, Minn. during the next couple days has canceled the Bemidji State University baseball doubleheader against nationally-ranked Minnesota State University, Mankato April 18. The double dip originally scheduled for April 17 in Bemidji, Minn. was moved to April 18 in Mankato, Minn. yesterday.
BSU’s April 20-21 home series against Upper Iowa University has been moved to Fayette, Iowa, the home of the Peacocks, due to snow still covering the BSU Baseball Field. Twin bills are slated for each day. Saturday, first pitch is set for 1 p.m., while Sunday’s doubleheader is scheduled to begin at noon.
Since the games were originally scheduled to be played in Bemidji, Minn., the Beavers will bat in the bottom of the inning in each game versus UIU.
The schedule changes knock out the 12-game homestand, originally scheduled for BSU Baseball Field. Bemidji State’s next home date is slated for May 1 against Southwest Minnesota State University.
The Beavers are 12-14 overall and 3-7 in NSIC contests. BSU hasn’t played a game since April 7.
