FAYETTE, Iowa – The Bemidji State University baseball team had its Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference opener at Upper Iowa University canceled due to unplayable field conditions Saturday at Robertson Woods Field. The doubleheader was pushed back three and a half hours before the decision was made to cancel the contests.
The weather conditions were prime for spring baseball, but frost came up from the ground, deeming parts of the infield as unplayable. Due to league rules, Saturday’s games will not be rescheduled.
The Beavers (6-7) and Peacocks (7-6) will attempt to play a doubleheader Sunday at 12 p.m.
