BEMIDJI, Minn. -- The threat of inclement weather has had its force felt again as the Bemidji State University and University of Minnesota Duluth baseball teams moved this weekend’s four-game series to Friday and Saturday. The Beavers and Bulldogs will play doubleheaders on both days, beginning at 3 p.m. and 12 p.m., respectively, at BSU Baseball Field.
Rain in the forecast forced the programs to move the game dates, with Sunday serving as a possible make-up date if rain is present Saturday.
Bemidji State opened its week of action with a road sweep at Minot State University Wednesday. The Beavers took a 3-0 lead in game one before scoring a final run in the seventh inning of a 4-2 win. Outfielder Scott Litchy totaled seven RBI for BSU, the first instance for the program since shortstop Collin Eckman did so April 11, 2015, while the team put up three five-run innings in an 18-13 win in game two.
Minnesota Duluth opened this week’s action Wednesday with a two-game sweep of University of Minnesota Crookston in Duluth, Minn. The Bulldogs took game one 7-2 and game two 16-2 in seven innings.
