Beaver Baseball makes minor adjustments to upcoming schedule

BEMIDJI, Minn. -- The official 2018 home opening weekend for the Bemidji State University baseball program has been pushed back one day in an effort to reach improved field conditions at BSU Baseball Field. BSU will host Wayne State College at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 22 and at 12 p.m. Monday, April 23 while the program also added a non-conference doubleheader at home against University of Minnesota Crookston on Thursday, May 3.

The Beavers and Wildcats were originally scheduled to play in a Saturday/Sunday series at BSU Baseball Field. A late winter has pushed BSU’s home opener back, which was originally planned to take place Saturday, April 7 against Winona State University.

After having eight games cancelled this season due to weather, BSU added its two-game series against UMC during the final week of the season. The Golden Eagles swept the Beavers in a four-game, non-conference series April 14-15 in Crookston, Minn.

Nestled in Northern Minnesota’s wooded region and located on the shore of Lake Bemidji, Bemidji State University sponsors 15 varsity athletic programs with NCAA Division I men’s and women’s hockey membership in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association, while its 13 NCAA Division II programs hold membership in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC).
