BEMIDJI, Minn. - Bemidji State offensive lineman Bryan Stoffel has been named First-Team All-Midwest Region by d2football.com, that publication announced today. Safety Marty Humeniuk joins Stoffel as a second-team All-Region honoree on defense. The two d2football.com All-Region selections is the most ever for BSU; wide receiver Ryan Welle was named honorable-mention All-Region by the web site in 2002, while running back Eddie Acosta was honorable-mention All-America in 2001.


Nine Bemidji State gridders earn All-NSIC honors

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Nine Bemidji State football players, led by First-Team selections Bryan Stoffel, Marty Humeniuk and Jason Baez, have been named to the 2003 All Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Team, as announced today by the league office. The three First-Team selections is the most for BSU since 2001, when the school had a record seven players on the first team, and tied for third-most since the Northern Intercollegiate Conference became the NSIC in 1995.

BEMIDJI, Minn. - Bemidji State running back Eddie Acosta was named Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced today. Acosta helped lead BSU to a 23-15 victory over Minnesota State-Moorhead on Oct. 4 in the annual “Battle of the Axe” rivalry between those two programs.

Bemidji State announces 2003 spring signing class

BEMIDJI, Minn. - Bemidji State University head football coach Jeff Tesch today announced the signing of 12 student-athletes to national letters of intent for the 2003 season. The class includes 10 high school seniors and two transfers - one from the junior college ranks and one from North Dakota State. The balanced class includes six signees on offense, five on defense and a placekicker/punter.
