Immerman and Leonhardt named Preseason All-America

Bemidji State University center Cory Immerman (Sr., Becker, Minn.) and tight end Brian Leonhardt (Jr., Blaine, Minn.) have been named to the Consensus Draft Services 2011 Preseason All-America Honorable Mention Football Team. The announcement came from organization officials June 20.


Offense (Wicked White) prevails in annual Green/White spring game

Junior quarterback Lance Rongstad (Eleva, Wis.) threw for 113 yards and two touchdowns and junior running back Dustin Kroeplin (Withee, Wis.) recorded a touchdown through the air and on the ground as the Wicked White defeated the Gang Green defense 35-24 in the annual Bemidji State football Green/White spring game Thursday at Chet Anderson Stadium.


Green/White spring football game set for April 21

The Bemidji State University football team will close its spring practice Thursday, April 21 with its annual Green/White football game at Chet Andrson Stadium, beginning at 7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public, giving fans a glimpse of what to expect from the Beavers in 2011.


Beaver football youth camp set for April 21

Bemidji State University football team will host its annual Youth Football Camp Thursday, April 21 at Chet Anderson Stadium for all kids currently in grades K-6. Camp registration opens at 4 p.m. and the cost is $15 per participant.


Football Spring Ball begins

With temperatures in the mid-40s and the sun shinning, the Bemidji State football team stepped onto the practice fields for the first time in four months to begin Spring Ball. The team will practice 15 times in the next three weeks, wrapping up with its annual Green and White Spring Game on April 21 at 7 p.m. at Chet Anderson Stadium.


Tesch releases 2011 schedule; spring ball begins Wednesday

Bemidji State University head football coach Jeff Tesch today released the 2011 football schedule as the Beavers are gearing-up to begin spring practice Wednesday, March 30. The schedule is highlighted by three home night games and four 2010 postseason participants, all of which combined to hand the Beavers their four losses last season.


Tesch announces the addition of 33 for 2011 season

Bemidji State University head football coach Jeff Tesch today announced the addition of 33 student-athletes to the BSU roster for the 2011 season. Of the 33 commitments, 16 signed National Letters of Intent, one is a transfer and 16 have inked offers of admission to attend Bemidji State.

Former Bemidji State University defensive standout Trent Baalke was named General Manager of the San Fransisco 49ers Late Tuesday. Baalke piled up 169 tackles (67-102=169), collected seven interceptions forced two fumbles and picked up four loose balls during his career Beaver football career (1982-85).


Wills and Schultz garner Don Hansen All-Region Three Third Team honors

Bemidji State University seniors Rob Wills (DE, Roseville, Minn.) and Andrew Schultz (WR, Grand Forks, N.D.) have been named to the All-Region Three Third Team by Don Hansen’s Football Gazette. The Don Hansen Football Committee made the announcement Thursday.


Bemidji State lands 31 on Fall Academic All-NSIC Team

Bemidji State University had 31 student-athletes selected to the 2010 Fall Academic All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Team, announced by the league office today.


Wills and Scheff earn Daktronics All-Region Second Team honors

Senior defensive end Rob Wills (Roseville, Minn.) and junior safety Brody Scheff (Waconia, Minn.) have been named to the Second-Team Daktronics, Inc. Super Region #3 defense. Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference officials made the announcement Wednesday.

The Bemidji State University football team has announced its 2010 team awards, honoring the top players for the Beavers this season. Four seniors were recognized after competing for the green and white for the last time.


BSU volleyball and football featured on Sports in the Round

The weekly radio show, “Sports in the Round,” which broadcasts on Wednesday evenings from 6-8 p.m. at The Ground Round, will this week feature Bemidji State University volleyball and football. Eleven seniors went out in style Saturday at Chet Anderson Stadium as the Bemidji State University football team defeated University of Minnesota, Crookston 45-3. The game closed the 2010 season and the careers for the senior class that will go down as one of the most winningest in Beaver football history.

No. 25 St. Cloud State downs Beavers 35-14

Right away from the first quarter No. 25 St. Cloud State dominated Bemidji State University, gaining a 35-14 victory in St. Cloud Saturday in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference game. The Beavers allowed big plays early in the game and couldn’t get anything going on offense, leading to a 28-0 deficit at the half that was too large to overcome.

Offense clicks in 41-13 victory; Edholm becomes BSU's all-time TD passer

The Bemidji State University offense was clicking in the 41-13 victory against Northern State Saturday. In the win, senior quarterback Derek Edholm (Anoka, Minn.) threw four touchdowns to became the school's all-time touchdown passer with 53. Sophomore running back Dustin Kroeplin (Withee, Wis.) ran for 200 yards and two touchdowns.

Bemidji State junior kicker/punter Jesse Sundby (Argyle, Minn.) was today announced Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Special Teams Player of the Week, by the league office. Sundby kicked the 26-yard game-winning field goal Saturday as the Beavers downed University of Mary 23-22 at Chet Anderson Stadium.

For the fourth time this season, the Bemidji State University ‘Gang Green’ defense held its opponent to 12 points or less, giving a BSU offense that is still trying to find a rhythm, a chance to win the game. Its athletic, pound the ball down your throat offense and no-mercy defense combine for a pigskin powerhouse destined to go deep in the post-season. After posting a 7-3 record in conference play during the 2009 season, the Bemidji State University football team has been tabbed fifth in the 2010 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Preseason Coaches’ Poll announced today by league officials.
