BEMIDJI, Minn. – February 6 officially marks the beginning of the 2013 season for the Bemidji State University football and women’s soccer programs as they announce their incoming signing classes. A live press conference is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m. in room 230 of the Physical Education Building on the campus of BSU.
BSUBeavers.com will have exclusive coverage of the event all day. A live, interactive blog will keep fans, parents and media up-to-date on signees as National Letters of Intent come into the Bemidji State fax machine, the compliance office and admissions office. We will also be covering the press conference live on the blog. In addition, the Bemidji State Athletics’ Twitter account, @BSUBeavers, will also be providing updates throughout the day.
The updates lead into the official press conference head women’s soccer coach Jim Stone and football head coach Jeff Tesch, which will be streamed live on BSUBeavers.com.
At the conclusion of the press conference the signing releases will be posted on BSUBeavers.com. A roster of the football and soccer signees will go live after the press conference containing each signees’ bio, highlight video (if available), photos and quotes from BSU coaches.

The BSU football team finished the 2012 season 7-4 overall to post its 14th record of at least .500 in its last 15 seasons. The team’s 5-1 record at Chet Anderson Stadium matched a program-best for home wins in a season and marked the 11th consecutive winning home season. Bemidji State went 6-1 versus the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) North to share the North Division title with University of Minnesota Duluth and record its best showing in the five years since beginning divisional play.
Bemidji State completed the 2012 campaign with an overall record of 10-7-2, while it finished sixth in the final NSIC standings owning a 8-5-2 mark in league play. BSU made the NSIC postseason tournament for the eighth time under Stone, falling in the first round Upper Iowa University, 1-0. The Beavers had 15 one-goal matches in 2012 (9-6).
