Green and White Spring Game and Youth Clinic set for April 25

BEMIDJI, Minn. – The Bemidji State University football team will host a Youth Football Clinic Thursday, April 25 at Chet Anderson Stadium before concluding its spring practice with the annual Green and White Spring Game. The camp is open to all kids currently in grades K-6 and is $15 per participant. Clinic registration begins at 4 p.m., will start at 5 p.m. and the spring game will follow on The Chet at 7 p.m.

Current BSU football coaches and student-athletes will conduct on-field fundamental football instructions on throwing, catching, blocking, kicking and tackling. Included in the registration fee are a Beaver football T-shirt, picnic lunch and the opportunity to get autographs from Bemidji State coaches and athletes.

A picnic lunch and autograph session will follow the one-hour clinic at 6 p.m. and the event will be capped with the annual BSU Green and White Spring Game starting at 7 p.m. The game is free and open to the public. In the event of bad weather, the camp will be moved indoors to the Gillett Fitness/Recreation Center.

The Beavers are coming off a 7-4 season where they finished 6-1 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference North to tie for the North Division title. BSU lost the majority of its offense in 2013 due to graduation, including its starting center, quarterback, running back, tight end and top three wide receivers. On the other side of the ball, BSU lost just three starters from a Gang Green defense that finished 15th nationally in total defense and rushing defense and 18th in scoring defense. Head coach Jeff Tesch enters his 18th season at Bemidji State and owns a 113-71 career record.
