DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Three members of the Bemidji State University football team’s “Gang Green” defense cap their seasons Sunday, Dec. 10 in the annual FCS Bowl held in Daytona Beach, Fla. Seniors Niko Daniello, Trysten Ross and Jake Wirsching will each represent the Beavers on the National Team (Blue) under head coach Mike Stock.

The game is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Sunday at Daytona Beach Municipal Stadium. Live video and radio will be available during the game, which can be found in the links to the right of this page.

Daniello, a senior linebacker from Addison, Ill., and All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference First Team Defense, started all 11 games at inside linebacker while leading the team with 82 total tackles. His tackle production ranked him 14th in the NSIC, as 45 were assisted and 37 were solo. Daniello also led the team with 13.0 tackles for a loss and four sacks. He forced one fumble and broke up one pass. Daniello finishes his BSU career with 176 tackles, 24.0 tackles for a loss and 7.5 sacks.

Ross, a senior linebacker from Little Falls, Minn., and All-NSIC Second Team Defense, ranked third on BSU with 59 tackles after starting all 11 games. His 10.0 tackles for a loss and 3.0 sacks ranked second on the team while he also added two interceptions and one fumble recovery.

Wirsching, a senior defensive lineman from Waterford, Wis., and All-NSIC Honorable Mention, started all 11 games for BSU and ranked eighth on the team with 43 tackles. He totaled 3.0 sacks and 5.0 tackles for a loss while also recovering one fumble and blocking one kick.

The FCS Bowl is an annual post-season college football all-star game consisting of top players from top FCS and HBCU schools played annually at Daytona Beach Stadium in Daytona Beach, FL. The FCS Bowl showcases All-American and All Conference seniors from around the Nation that travel to the game from over 30 states representing over 100 schools. Players travel to the game from as far as Texas, Arkansas, Oregon, Colorado, Michigan, Utah, South Dakota and more.  The FCS Bowl is the elite and only current post-season all-star game scouted by the NFL and players get the opportunity to play in front of many NFL and CFL scouts and the game consistently gets 12 - 15 NFL Teams in attendance. The FCS Bowl is presented by SPIRAL / East Preps LLC and founded by owner Michael Quartey Esq., also a former NFL Agent.

Former NFL Coach Mike Stock will return for the 4th year in a row to Head Coach the National Team while current AFL Albany Director of Football Operation Chris Thompson, will return to Head Coach the American in the 4th Annual FCS Bowl. The rosters give NFL/CFL scouts a chance to view and get to know some of the best players from smaller schools over the bowl weekend. All 32 NFL teams receive and review the FCS Bowl game and NFL Films distributes the film to all NFL Teams.
