Krause to take part in Gopher Pro Day March 28

BEMIDJI, Minn. -- Former Bemidji State University football offensive lineman Jake Krause will participate in the University of Minnesota’s Pro Day March 28 at the program’s new indoor practice facility at Athletes Village. The offensive guard will aim to continue his football career in front of NFL scouts.

Krause, a native of Wadena, Minn., was named to several post-season teams following his senior campaign in 2017. He was just the third student-athlete in the history of the Beaver Football program to be named to the D2Football.com All-America Team, after being chosen to the honorable mention squad in January. Krause was also a member of the 2017 Don Hansen All-Super Region Three Team, 2017 All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference First Team, 2017 Academic All-NSIC Team and the winner of the 2017 NSIC Glen Galligan Award, given to a student-athlete who participates at his institution for four years and is academically superior while making a positive contribution to the institution.

Krause helped drive BSU’s 35.3 points per game in 2017, which ranked third in the NSIC this season. The Beavers also ranked third in the league with 202.5 rushing yards per game and fourth with 396.5 total yards per game. Krause, a team captain, started all 11 games and finished his career on a 33-game start streak, all after being diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphona during the fall of his red-shirt season.

Krause was a part of BSU’s historic run in 2016 that ended with the program’s first post-season victory in the Mineral Water Bowl against Washburn University. He started all 12 games to lead the BSU offense to 523.8 total yards per game, which ranked second in the conference, and 45.5 points per game, which led the NSIC. Krause earned a spot on the 2016 NSIC All-Conference Second Team and the 2016 Fall Academic All-NSIC Team.

The Pro Day session, which begins at 8 a.m., is not open to the public, but is open to the media.
