Ames voted NSIC North Division Defensive Preseason Player of the Year

For the fourth consecutive season, the Bemidji State University football program is represented with a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference North Division Preseason Player of the Year as the 2019 Preseason Coaches’ Poll was released. Junior linebacker Gabe Ames was voted the 2019 NSIC North Division Defensive Preseason Player of the Year, the third straight season a Beaver was selected to the honor, while the team was voted to finish fifth overall and second in the NSIC North Division.


Gordy Skaar Memorial Golf Tournament raises $30,000 for BSU Athletics

Over 140 friends, fans and alumni of Bemidji State Athletics gathered at the Bemidji Town & Country Club June 21 for the 42nd Annual Gordy Skaar Memorial Golf Tournament. The annual event raised $30,000 for the Beavers.


BSU’s Gordy Skaar Memorial Golf Tournament set for June 21

The 42nd Annual Gordy Skaar Memorial Golf Tournament is set for Friday, June 21 at Bemidji Town and Country Club and it’s not too late to participate. Registration materials for men and women are now being accepted until July 11th for the event to benefit the Bemidji State University Athletic Scholarship Fund.


Bemidji State football featured in expanded NSIC broadcast partnership

The NSIC announced an expanded broadcast partnership with Midco Sports Network® for the 2019-20 academic year. MidcoSN will air 51 live NSIC events, which includes Bemidji State football games versus the University of Mary, Sept. 12, and the University of Minnesota Duluth, Sept. 28, as well as potential women’s or men’s basketball or volleyball postseason contests.

Beaver Football’s annual spring game kicks off Saturday at Chet Anderson

Bemidji State University football’s spring practice season culminates at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 20 with the annual Green and White game at Chet Anderson Stadium in Bemidji, Minn. The Beavers will go head-to-head in a scrimmage and individual drills before the final day of practice April 22.

Walock part of all-time high NFF Hampshire Honor Society class

Senior Bemidji State University football defensive back Andrew Walock was recognized as one of 1,661 student-athletes from across the country as part of the 2019 National Football Foundation (NFF) Hampshire Honor Society. Walock joins student-athletes from all divisions of play who each maintained a cumulative 3.2 GPA or better throughout their college careers, as released by the NFF & College Hall of Fame.


Three assistant coaches to join Beaver Football in 2019

The Bemidji State University football program will add three assistant coaches to the staff for the 2019 season, as announced by head coach Brent Bolte. Darius Carey, Alex Gray, and Sheldon Tucker, Jr., join the Beavers with focus on the defensive line, outside linebackers, and cornerbacks, respectively.


2019 Beaver Football schedule announced

Bemidji State University head football coach Brent Bolte released the program 2019 schedule Wednesday which features five home games and two Thursday night primetime kick-offs. The Beavers open the season Thursday, Sept. 5, 2019, with a road game against Northern State University.


Beaver Football sets initial 2019 spring practice schedule

Beaver Football adds 35 student-athletes on 2019 National Signing Day

Bemidji State University football head coach Brent Bolte announced the members of BSU’s 2019 recruiting class on Wednesday. The group of 35 student-athletes includes 17 offensive, 16 defensive, one special teams, and one athlete positions.



Beaver Football to hold National Signing Day press conference Feb. 6

The Bemidji State University football program will announce the 2019 National Signing Day class with a press conference scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 6. Beavers head coach Brent Bolte will speak at the live press conference in room 230 of the Physical Education Complex on the BSU Campus.
