2010 (So): Played in the first seven games of the season before suffering a season-ending injury... Lined-up mostly as a receiver and was used in the end-around or as an outlet for quarterback Derek Edholm, while also serving as a punt returner... Along with teammate Justin Lee, were the only two players in the NSIC to record a touchdown passing, rushing and receiving during the regular season... Rushed 25 times for 124 yards and one touchdown for a 5.0 yards per carry and 17.7 yards per game average... Caught four passes for 42 yards and a touchdown... Completed both his pass attempts for a total of 17 yards, which included a nine-yard touchdown...  Returned seven punts for 108 yards, a 15.4 yards per return average... Totaled 274 all-purpose yards (39.1 yds/gm) to sit fifth on the team... Was a 2010 Fall Academic All-NSIC Team member.
    Rushed for his one touchdown at Southwest Minnesota State (Sept. 18), received his first-career pass for a score at Minnesota Duluth (Sept. 25) and threw his only touchdown versus Upper Iowa (Oct. 2)... Ran nine times for a season-high 82 yards at Minot State (Aug. 26) in the season-opener... Received two passes for a season-high 17 yards at Concordia-St. Paul (Oct. 9)... Returned two punts for a total of 44 yards twice, at Minot State and at SMSU, with a season-long 38-yard return against the Mustangs... Recorded one tackle on the season, coming versus Augustana (Sept. 11). 

2009 (Fr): One of the most versatile players on the BSU roster, Rongstad was among the team-leaders in passing, rushing and receiving in nine games played as an impact freshman... Was second on the team in rushing gaining 574 yards on 87 carries... His  6.6 yards per carry was tops among his teammates... Rongstad also passed for 22 yards per game, completing 16-of-28 pass attempts for 198 yards and a touchdown, while throwing just one interception... He may not have been a top receiving target, but he made the most of it when he got the opportunity.  His 14.5 yards per catch was good for second on the team.
    Made his collegiate debut in the season opener versus Minot State (8/27/09)... Carried the ball four times for 47 yards including a 46-yard scoring scamper... Found the end zone again versus MSU Moorhead (9/19/09) logging a team season-long 52-yard carry... Was a perfect 5-for-5 passing for 88 yards, including a career-long 54-yard pass, at Northern State (9/26/09)... Recorded his finest game as a freshman versus St. Cloud State (10/3/09)... He rushed for a career-high 105 yards on 12 attempts and a 47-yard touchdown run... Was also 2-for-4 passing for 21 yards completing his first collegiate touchdown pass... Was hindered late in the season by an ankle injury... Was also a vital member of the BSU men’s basketball team in 2009-10... Averaged 12.7 points and 4.6 rebounds en route to being named the Bemidji State athletic department’s 2009-10 Male Newcomer of the Year.

2008 (RS): Sat out entire season as a redshirt.

Prior to BSU: The starting quarterback for the undefeated 2007 state championship football team, Rongstad led ESCHS to a 26-2 record and two trips to the state championship game... He was a 2007 All-state honorable mention selection in the gridiron... Is a four-sport standout at Eleva-Strum Central owning three letters in football and basketball and four in both golf and baseball... A First Team All-State D4 pick on the basketball court he led the Cardinals to back-to-back trips to the state tournament... Rongstad also participated on multiple state tournament boy’s golf teams.
