2014 (Jr): An All-NSIC First Team selection... Started all 11 games at safety... Was third on the team with 76 total tackles (44 solo, 32 assisted)... Accumulated 4.5 tackles for loss (-28 yards) along with two fumble recoveries, one forced fumble and two passes broken up... Picked up a season-high 12 total tackles (9 solo, 3 assisted) versus Sioux Falls (Sept. 13) along with one tackle for a loss and one pass break up... Was also named to the USA College Football Division II Pre-Season All-American Third Team Defense.
2013 (Jr): An All-NSIC North Division Second Team Defense selection… Started all 11 games at safety for the Beavers… Racked-up a team-high 95 tackles to rank eighth in the NSIC… Tackle total placed him first among the league’s defensive backs, while his 54 solo tackles tied for third in the NSIC overall and sits sixth on BSU’s single-season chart for solo tackles… Recorded 5.5 tackles for loss (-14 yards)… Added five pass break-ups… For the first time in his career, Christensen forced a fumble and recovered a fumble.
Recorded 10 or more tackles four times, which included a career-high and team-best 17 tackles versus Concordia-St. Paul (Sept. 14)… Added a tackle for loss (-4 yards) and a forced fumble versus the Golden Bears… In consecutive games he totaled a career-best nine solo tackles… At Northern State (Oct. 19) he posted 11 tackles (nine solo) and a career-high three pass break-ups, while versus No. 7 Minnesota Duluth he totaled 14 tackles (nine solo) with a tackle for loss (-1 yard) and a forced fumble… Posted a 10-tackle (four solo) effort versus No. 21 St. Cloud State (Nov. 2) for his third consecutive 10-plus tackle game.
2012 (So): Played in all 11 and started the final 10 games of the season at safety... Finished sixth on the team in tackles with 47... Totaled 29 solo tackles to rank fourth on the squad... Compiled 5.5 tackles for loss (-18 yards)... Recorded two interceptions and returned them for 11 yards... Two picks ranked fourth on the team... Added one break-up.
Totaled a career-high nine tackles (four solo), one of which was for loss, against MSU Moorhead (Nov. 3)... Tallied five tackles (four solo), a tackle for loss (-2 yards) and an interception at Sioux Falls (Sept. 22)... Picked the Minnesota Crookston quarterback Sept. 29 and returned it 11 yards... Posted six tackles (three solo) and a career-high 2.5 tackles for loss (-11 yards) against Wayne State (Sept. 15)... Totaled six tackles (three solo) - 1.5 for loss (-4 yards) - at Minnesota State (Sept. 8)... Compiled five or more tackles on five occasions, which included three games with six tackles.
2011 (Fr): Played in all 11 games for the Beavers at safety and on special teams... Totaled 12 tackles (six solo), including four on kickoff coverage... Recorded an interception in his collegiate debut against Minot State (Aug. 25) and returned it 27 yards to the end zone for his first collegiate touchdown that capped the scoring in a 27-0 victory for Bemidji State... Added two pass break-ups in 2011.
Against the fellow Beavers, Christensen totaled a season-high five tackles (two solo), the interception (one of five for BSU in the game) and one pass break-up... Posted three tackles (one solo) and a pass break-up at Upper Iowa (Oct. 1)... Capped the season with two tackles (one solo) at Minnesota, Crookston (Nov. 12).
2010 (RS): Sat out entire season as a redshirt.
Prior to BSU: A three-year starter and four-year member of the varsity football team at Dutchtown High School, Christensen has a knack for making the big play on the football field... As a senior, he accounted for two quarterback sacks, three forced fumbles, two interceptions and defensive touchdown from his strong safety position... Is a second-team all-conference pick and was named second-team all-region... His father played for BSU in the 1980s.
