 Bemidji State University softball head coach Rick Supinski announced today the addition of Emily Varner to his squad for the 2014 season. Varner, a native of Buffalo, Minn., is a versatile, left-handed player with the ability to play infield as well as outfield positions.

Senior outfielder Trevor Purvis was named All-NSIC First Team May 7, then earned NSIC All-Tournament Team honors May 11, helping the no. 8 Bemidji State baseball team to a run at the NSIC Tournament Championship. Purvis was awarded his first all-conference honor in his second season with Bemidji State. The outfielder posted a .375 batting average to finish 13th in the NSIC. His on-base percentage of .456 led the team and finished seventh. At the end of the season he was tied for seventh in walks (20), eighth in hits (54), tied for eighth in plate appearances (172), tied for 14th in doubles (11) and tied for 15th in total bases with (73).
