Former Bemidji State University men’s basketball player and Daktronics Division II Men’s Basketball Ron Lenz National Player of the Year James Ellisor (F, Glendale, Ariz.) has been selected to participate in a closed pre-draft try-out Wednesday, May 9 with the Minnesota Timberwolves of the National Basketball Association.
University of Minnesota Duluth today announced it has hired former Bemidji State University men’s basketball coach Matt Bowen to succeed long-time head coach Gary Holquist at the helm the Bulldogs’ men’s basketball program. Bowen leaves BSU after six years at the helm of the Beaver basketball program.
Bemidji State University’s Zuzana Tomcikova (Sr., Bratislava, Slovakia) and James Ellisor (Sr., Glendale, Ariz.) were named as the 2011-12 Student-Athletes of the Year and Rachel Craig (Fr., MB, Wadena, Minn.) and Dermaine Crockrell (Jr., G, Mesa, Ariz.) earned recognition as 2011-12 Newcomers of the Year Thursday at Sanford Center as the University’s honored players and coaches as its annual Student-Athlete Appreciation Banquet.
The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) today announced Bemidji State University’s Brianna Duff (Sr., Ramsey, Minn.) and Lance Rongstad (Jr., Eleva, WIs.) to its list of 2012 Honor Student-Athlete and scholarship award winners.
For the third time this postseason Bemidji State University men’s basketball senior forward James Ellisor (Glendale, Ariz.) was selected to an All-American Team. Monday, Ellisor was named Division II Bulletin First Team All-American.
