ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference announced today senior guard Seth Haake (Eden Prairie, Minn.) was selected as a Second-Team All-NSIC member. His 18.6 points per game led the team, ranked second in the NSIC and placed him 55th in the nation (500 ranked). He finished his career at BSU with 1,202 career points, which stands 10th on BSU’s career scoring chart.

“I’m proud of Seth and his accomplishments at Bemidji State,” said head coach Matt Bowen “He is everything a student-athlete can be and was our leader on and off the court.”

Haake established career-highs in almost every statistical category this season, including a 36-point performance in a 98-90 win against University of Minnesota Duluth, Feb. 24. The point total surpassed his previous high-water mark of 30, set just 12 days earlier in a 79-75 victory at Minnesota State University Moorhead. He led the team in scoring 17 times this season, posting 20 or more points on nine occasions, including a stretch of four consecutive games Dec. 12-Jan. 2.

He played and started in all 27 games, shooting 55.9 percent from the field to lead the team, sit eighth in the conference and 48th in the nation (258 ranked). From beyond the arc, his 48.0 percentage was the best on the team and third in the conference. He made a team-high 61 3-pointers that sat tied for seventh in the league. He shot 80.4 percent from the free throw line, which was second on the team (min. 2.0 made per game) and 12th in the NSIC. Haake also got it done on the defensive side of the court, recording 49 steals (1.81 stlpg) to lead the team and hold down the third spot in the conference. In addition, he averaged 4.3 rebounds per contest to sit third on the squad.

In conference play, his 19.5 points per game ranked second. Also, he was third in 3-point percentage (49.0%), tied for fourth in steals (35, 1.75 stlpg), fifth in 3-pointers made (49), 10th in field goal percentage (54.4%), 10th in minutes played (33.40 minpg) and 15th in free throw percentage (78.7%).

Haake had 914 career points in NSIC contests to rank 12th on the conference’s career scoring chart. He had 190 career assists to sit 10th on BSU’s top career assists list. For his career, Haake shot 51.3 percent from the field, 43.5 percent from 3-point range and 82.0 percent from the charity stripe.

The last Bemidji State players to appear on an all-conference team were Derik Hollyfield (second team) and Alvin Muse (third team)

The Beavers closed the season winning five of their last six games, which included a season-long five game winning streak. BSU finished with a 12-15 overall and 8-12 NSIC record. The win totals are the best under Bowen and since 2005-06. BSU finished in 11th place in the final NSIC standings, but just a game out of a tie for ninth.
