BEMIDJI, Minn. -- Announced for the second week in a row, the Bemidji State men’s basketball team was honored in the regional poll as it is No. 10 in the North Central Region. The announcement came today from the NCAA Division II Men’s Basketball Committee.

Last week, BSU was in the 10th spot for just the second time ever in program history; the 1992-93 team was No. 8 when BSU was a member of the Great Lakes Region.

The Beavers defeated Minnesota State, Moorhead last Friday before falling to Northern State, the No. 4 team in the region, by a count of 97-93. Sharing the league lead with NSU but holding the tie-breaker, BSU is 16-8 overall and 11-2 in the NSIC.

There are ten teams selected in each region with a total of eight regions. The regional rankings are released weekly on Wednesdays through March 3, 2004. The North Central Region comprise 32 teams from the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC), North Central Conference (NCC) and Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC). The RMAC is made up of teams from Nebraska, Colorado and New Mexico.
