BSU Men's Basketball Camp Set for July 5-9

BEMIDJI, Minn. -- Bemidji State head men’s basketball coach Patrick Smith, who was appointed the 18th coach on May 6, 2004, has announced a boy’s summer camp this July. The session will run from July 5-9 with the cost set at $50 per participant. A special rate is made for two or more family members in attendance with a cost of $40 per camper.

All boys entering grades 2-12 for the 2004-05 school year are encouraged to attend. Each participant will receive an official BSU Camp T-shirt. The schedule will run from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day.

The emphasis of the camp will be on the individual offensive skills of shooting form and technique, one-on-one perimeter/post development and ball-handling skills.

Smith comes to BSU from Moberly Area Community College (Mo.) where he was head men’s basketball coach and athletic director for the past three seasons. Overall, Smith has averaged 22 wins per season since 1991-92 and holds a 416-272 (.605) junior college career mark. He is a six-time Coach of the Year ranging from conference to region honors.
