Bemidji State Men’s Basketball Summer League Scheduled for July 5-29

BEMIDJI, Minn. -- Bemidji State Head Men’s Basketball Coach Patrick Smith has announced the Boy’s Basketball Summer League ranging from July 5-29. Games will be played each Monday and Wednesday evening from 4:00 until 9:00 p.m. with each team being guaranteed eight games. The league is open to all high school basketball and AAU Teams. The total cost is $350 per team with a maximum of 10 teams. All games will be played at the BSU Gymnasium.

Smith, who was appointed the 18th BSU head coach on May 6, 2004, also will run the BSU Men’s Basketball Day Camp, July 5-9. Boys in grades 2-12 are encouraged to attend with each camp running from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day. Cost is $50 for each camper or $40 per participant for two or more family members.

Smith comes to BSU from Moberly Area Community College (Mo.) where he was head men’s basketball coach and athletic director for the past three seasons. Overall, Smith has averaged 22 wins per season since 1991-92 and holds a 416-272 (.605) junior college career mark. He is a six-time Coach of the Year ranging from conference to region honors.
