BSU Head Coach to be Featured on Regional Radio Show
ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference has announced that it will feature Bemidji State University head men’s basketball coach Patrick Smith on its weekly Northern Sun Spotlight Radio Show.
Smith will talk about stepping into and attempting to rebuild an NSIC regular-season championship team as well as commenting on the strengths and weakness of his team and how he thinks it will match up against the rest of the league.
The one-hour Northern Sun Spotlight Radio Show is broadcast locally on KKBJ 1360 AM every Saturday at 9:00 a.m. Smith is a guest on the Jan. 15th show.
The 2004-05 academic year marks the six season of the Northern Sun Spotlight. Twin Cities personality Mike Woodley takes listeners on a whirlwind tour of the NSIC each week bringing you updates from around the league with highlights, statistical information and profiles of the men’s and women’s Players of the Week. The show also includes interviews with coaches, student-athletes, administrators and alumni of NSIC institutions.
The Bemidji State University men’s basketball team is 8-7 overall and a perfect 2-0 in NSIC play this season. The team puts its 13-game home winning streak versus NSIC opponents on the line this weekend when it welcomes a pair of NSIC foes. Friday the team is set to battle Minnesota State University-Moorhead in an 8:00 p.m. tip-off while the Beavers meet the only other undefeated conference team (2-0) Saturday at 8:00 p.m. in a possible sneak peek at the NSIC Tournament Championship game. Both contests are slated for the BSU Gymnasium.
