BSU Men's Basketball to Host "A Day with the Beavers" Basketball Clinic

BEMIDJI, Minn. -- Bemidji State University Head Men’s Basketball Coach Patrick Smith would like to remind boys and girls in Bemidji and the surrounding area of “A Day with the Beavers” basketball clinic Saturday, Oct. 23rd.

The clinic is scheduled from 9:00 am-6:00 p.m. for boys and girls in grades 2nd-8th and will include a fundamentals clinic with instruction from the BSU coaching staff and players as well as a number of contests and competitions including 1-on-1 and 3-on-3 tournaments. The campers will also have the opportunity to see the 2004-05 BSU basketball team practice.

The cost has been set at $40 for each camper. That fee includes personal instruction by the BSU coaching staff and players, a BSU basketball T-shirt and lunch at the University Dining Center. For more information, contact the BSU men’s basketball office at (218) 755-2774.

Last season, the Beavers were crowned Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference champions after breezing through the league with a 14-2 mark. BSU appeared in the NCAA Regionals for the first time in school history.

Smith, who was appointed the 18th head coach on May 6, 2004, comes to BSU from Moberly Area Community College (Mo.) where he was head men’s basketball coach and athletic director for the past three seasons.
