Bemidji State to Host Basketball Academy and Youth Tournament

BEMDIJI, Minn. – Bemidji State University head men's basketball coach Patrick Smith has announced that BSU will be conducting a four-week basketball academy beginning April 11th. The academy is open to girls and boys grades 2-12 Mondays from 6:00-900 p.m.

The emphasis of the clinic will be on one-on-one offensive fundamentals, shooting form development, ball-handling drills and perimeter/post development. The academy will also provide young athletes with a personal improvement workout program for off-season development, strength training for basketball and vertical jump/agility program to improve overall athletic ability.

Registration for the academy is $60 and includes a BSU basketball t-shirt.

The Beavers are also sponsoring a youth basketball tournament April 8-10th. The event is open to boys and girls with age divisions of 3-4th, 5-6th and 7-8th. Cost for the tournament is $100 per team with a guarantee of at least four games.
