Bemidji State Men's Basketball to Host Youth Summer Camp

BEMIDJI, Minn. – Bemidji State University men's basketball will be conducting the first session of its summer youth basketball camp June 6-10. The camp is open to girls and boys entering grades 2-12 with division breakdowns according to age.

A typical day of BSU basketball camp runs from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and includes instruction from the BSU coaching staff its men's basketball players in individual offensive development, shooting fundamentals, and competitive 1-1, 3-3 and 5-5 league play. Morning sessions will be devoted to individual instruction while afternoons will be reserved for competitive play.

Registration for the camp is $100 for day campers with lunch provided each day in the BSU Dining Center. The cost for resident campers is $225 with three meals provided each day as well as five nights of campus lodging. All campers will receive a BSU Summer Basketball Camp T-Shirt.

BSU head men's basketball coach Patrick Smith has also announced that the program has added a girl's high school summer basketball league. The league runs from June 21 through July 9 with each team guaranteed eight games and at least one tournament game. Cost per team is $350.
