Bemidji State Spring Basketball Academy date changes

BEMDIJI, Minn. – Bemidji State University head men's basketball coach Patrick Smith has announced that there has been a change in the schedule for the Spring Youth Basketball Academy due to NCAA recruiting conflicts.

Instead of beginning on April 3, the first session has been pushed back to April 24 from 6-9 p.m. Following sessions will take place April 29 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., May 1 from 6-9 p.m. and will wrap up May 6 from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Each session will take place at the BSU Gymnasium.

The emphases of the clinic include: shooting form development, one-on-one post and perimeter instruction, ball-handling drills, and three-on-three and five-on-five team play. The academy will also provide young athletes with basketball fundamental and athletic workout programs for off-season development and strength training to improve overall athletic ability.

The academy is open to girls and boys in grades 2-12 with age division breakdowns.

Registration for the academy is $60 and includes personal instruction by the BSU men's basketball coaching staff and student-athletes as well as a Beaver basketball t-shirt.
