Beavers add Nov. 6 home exhibition game
BEMIDJI, Minn.  – The Bemidji State University men’s basketball team has added an exhibition to its 2010-11 schedule for Nov. 6 at the BSU Gymnasium. The Beavers will host NCAA Division III-member University of Wisconsin-Superior at 7 p.m. Admission to the event is free and the United Way of Bemidji Area will be at the doors accepting free will donations to benefit the United Way. United Way T-shirts will be given away throughout the game by Bucky the Beaver.  

The UW-Superior Yellowjackets went 15-11 overall and 7-8 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC), finishing sixth in the final conference standings. BSU was tabbed 10th in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Preseason Coaches’ Poll, finishing last season winners in five of its last six games, en route to a 12-15 overall and 8-12 NSIC mark, good for 11th place in the final conference standings. The 12 wins was the most under fifth-year head coach Matt Bowen, as BSU has increased its win total in each of his seasons at the helm.

The Beavers begin the regular season on the road at Michigan Tech University Nov. 16 and Finlandia University Nov. 17. The home opener is Nov. 23 against University of Wisconsin-Stout, beginning at 7 p.m. BSU opens the NSIC schedule at home with a four game homestand, starting with Minnesota State University Moorhead Dec. 3 at 8 p.m.
