Deters stopped 61-of-63 shots faced in Saturday’s 2-1 overtime loss to University of Wisconsin. The 61-save performance is the second-most saves by a BSU goaltender in a single game in program history. Despite the loss, the Sartell, Minn. native finished with an 1.97 goals against average and .968 save percentage against Wisconsin.
Deters is now 2-4-0 this season with an 1.51 goals against average and .956 save percentage.
White averaged 10.0 points per game with 3.5 rebounds a game last weekend against Minnesota State University, Mankato and Concordia University, St. Paul at Sanford Center. The Rhinelander, Wis. native went 8-for-19 (42.1 %) from the field including 3-for-6 (50.0 %) from beyond the arc. He also added four assists, two steals and one block.
White is averaging 6.4 points per game this season and leads the Beavers averaging 5.2 rebounds per game.
The Bemidji State men’s basketball team (7-9 overall, 3-9 NSIC) returns to action Jan. 23-24 as it hits the road for a four-game stretch starting with Northern State University and Minnesota State University Moorhead.
The Beavers, now 14-11-1 overall and 9-10-1 in league play, will continue their eight-game road swing Jan. 24-25 as they travel to Grand Forks, N.D. to battle University of North Dakota. BSU swept North Dakota earlier this season in Bemidji, Minn. Both games are slated for a 2:07 p.m. start time from Ralph Engelstad Arena.
