Boschee announces Bemidji State 2015-16 men’s basketball schedule

BEMIDJI, Minn. – Bemidji State Head Men’s Basketball Coach Mike Boschee has announced the Beavers’ 2015-16 schedule. The 2015-16 campaign will get underway with a few games against Division III, NAIA and Division II opponents.

Bemidji State will open its 2015-16 regular season with a few nonconference games that includes a three-game home stand with Northland College (Nov. 13), Crown College (Nov. 14) and Mayville State University (Nov. 17). BSU will then play two exhibitions at the Viterbo Classic in La Crosse, Wis. Nov. 20-21, taking on its first opponent Cardinal Stritch University, Nov. 20 followed by a game against either Jamestown College or Viterbo University.

The Beavers continue non-conference action Nov. 24, playing host to Concordia University, St. Paul and then will travel down highway 2 to open Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) play against rival University of Minnesota Crookston (Nov. 28). December will get underway with a two-game road stand at St. Cloud State University and University of Minnesota Duluth, Dec. 4-5, respectively and then end with a three-game home series against Augustana College (Dec. 11), Wayne State College (Dec.12) and Minnesota Crookston (Dec. 19).

In 2016, Bemidji State will start on the road for an NSIC weekend at Minot State University and University of Mary, Jan. 2-3. Bemidji State will then embark on a stretch of eight games against teams that finished 2014-15 with a winning percentage above .500. The mid-season test will begin with BSU’s Sanford Center games Jan. 9-10 against Minnesota Duluth and St. Cloud State.

In total, 10 of the final 14 games will come against teams that finished with a positive winning percentage from a season ago.

BSU will round out its road action with a six-game road series that include trips to Minnesota State University, Mankato (Jan. 15), Concordia-St. Paul (Jan. 16), Southwest Minnesota State University (Feb. 5), University of Sioux Falls (Feb. 6), Minnesota State University Moorhead (Feb. 19) and Northern State University (Feb. 20).

A four-game home stand will end January to include NSIC opponents, Northern State and MSU Moorhead, Jan. 22-23 and Winona State University and Upper Iowa University, Jan. 29-30.

The Beavers final home weekend before the first round of the NSIC Tournament will be Feb. 12-13, as they play host to U-Mary and Minot State.

Bemidji State ended the 2014-15 campaign going 8-19 overall and marking a 4-18 record in conference action.
