BURNSVILLE, Minn. – Bemidji State University forward Ben Best has been selected for Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference North Division Player of the Week honors following play Nov. 24 and 28.
Best led the Beavers to a split versus Concordia University-St. Paul and University of Minnesota Crookston, averaging 14 points and nine rebounds per game. Netting 15 points in a 80-70 loss to the Golden Bears, Best recorded career-highs of 11 rebounds and four blocked shots. He added a team-high 13 points, seven rebounds and five assists in a 62-58 NSIC-opening victory versus the Golden Bears.
Best leads the team in scoring (13.6 ppg) and on the glass (6.4 rpg) five games into the 2015-16 season.
The Beavers, now 4-1 on the season and 1-0 in NSIC play, continues league play this weekend as it travels to St. Cloud State University and University of Minnesota Duluth. The Beavers and Huskies open the weekend with an 8 p.m. tip off from Hallenbeck Hall in St. Cloud, Minn. Friday, and will wrap up the weekend with a 6 p.m. contest at Romano Gymnasium in Duluth Saturday.
