2014-15 (Freshman): Averaged 26.2 minutes a game in 13 appearances…Scored 101 points on 40.8 percent from the field (31-for-76), a 51.3 percent effort from beyond the arc (20-for-39) and a 82.6 percent mark from the free throw line (19-for-23)… Totaled 52 rebounds (4 rpg) and added one block, 7 steals, and 33 assists… Recorded a season-high of 24 points at Minot State (Feb. 14) on 9-for-16 (56.3%) shooting from the field and 4-9 from beyond the arc… Brought down a season-high of nine rebounds… Played a season-high 30 minutes versus MSU Moorhead (Jan. 24).

High School: Upsala High School’s all-time leading scorer (2,168 points) and assist leader (413 assists), plus totaled 454 rebounds and 348 steals in four-year varsity career… Guided Upsala to a 24-3 overall record and a perfect 13-0 mark in Prairie Conference play as a senior and was named Morrison County Record Boy’s Basketball Player of the Year and was a Morrison County Record All-Area Boy’s Basketball Team selection for the second consecutive season… A member of the All-Prairie Conference Team… Averaged 29.1 points, 4.7 rebounds, 4.7 steals and 4.6 assists per game… Finished senior season scoring 20 or more points in all but one game, where he totaled 18… Played in Minnesota High School All-Star Series… Surpassed 2,000 career points Feb. 21, 2014 with a school-record 45 points versus Lakeview Christian Academy… Pekarek guided the Cardinals to a 31-2 overall record and a fourth place finish at the Class A Minnesota State Tournament in 2012-13… Totaled 758 points (23.0 ppg) and 106 assists (3.2 apg) to earn Prairie Conference Most Valuable Player and Morrison County Record Boy’s Basketball Player of the Year… Led Upsala to a 31-0 record until two consecutive losses in the state tournament, where Pekarek was named Class A State All-Tournament Team and Breakdown Sports Class A All-State Team… Surpassed 1,000 career points Feb. 13, 2013… Added 153 rebounds (4.6 rpg), 104 steals (3.2 spg) as a junior, while he shot 53 percent (248-of-465) from the field, 49 percent (66-for-136) from beyond the arc and 77 percent (196-of-254) from the free throw line… Named All-Prairie Conference as a sophomore and freshman (honorable mention)… A two-time team most valuable player… Helped guide the Cardinals to the program’s first appearance in the state tournament in 2011… Also a standout on the Upsala baseball team, has earned eight letters in baseball (four) and basketball (four)… Owns school record for stolen bases and is a gold glove performer… In the classroom, Pekarek was a member of the A Honor Roll and a Top 10 Honor Graduate.

Personal: Born July 22, 1995… Son of Michael Pekarek and Jeanne Lemieur… Christian is majoring in Elementary Education with a Math Endorsement… His Brother, Kyler, played baseball at Itasca Community College (2010-11) and Mount Marty College (2012-13).
