Bemidji State lands 23 on 2012 Spring Academic All-NSIC Team

Bemidji State University landed 23 student-athletes on the 2012 Spring Academic All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Team, announced by the league office today.


Hill and Menton named to NSIC All-Conference Team

Bemidji State University seniors Casey Hill (Virginia, Minn.) and Danny Menton (Hutchinson, Minn.) have been named to the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) 2011-12 All-Conference Men’s Golf Team.


Bemidji State 13th at Super Regional; Menton 12th

Led by senior Danny Menton, the Bemidji State men’s golf team battled wind and a brief lightening delay Wednesday and capped its appearance in the 2012 NCAA Division II Central/West Super Regional finishing 13th at 46-over-par. Menton tied for 12th individually finishing the event as one of five players at two-over-par.


Bemidji State ninth after 36 holes of Super Regional play

With 36 holes of 2012 NCAA Division II Central/West Super Regional in the books, the Bemidji State University men’s golf team sits ninth among the field at 21-over-par (299-298--597). Danny Menton (Sr., Hutchinson, Minn.) carded a one-under-par (71) on day to and sits tied for ninth individually at -2 (71-71--142).


Bemidji State 11th after day one of the Super Regional

The Bemidji State University men’s golf team opened the 2012 NCAA Division II Central/West Super Regional with an 11-over-par 299 to sit 11th Monday. The 54-hole event is being held at the par-72, 7,132-yard Golf Course at Wigwam Resort in Litchfield Park, Ariz. Danny Menton (Sr., Hutchinson, Minn.) carded a 71 (-1) to sit 15th individually.


BSU men’s golf prepares for NCAA Division II Super Regional

As most students close the book on classes for 2011-12 or prepare for graduation and beyond, the Bemidji State University men’s golf team is looking to extend its season just a bit longer. May 7-9 the Beavers are headed to Litchfield Park, Ariz. to compete in the NCAA Division II Central/West Super Regional.


BSU men’s golf selected to compete in NCAA Division II Championships

The Bemidji State University men’s golf team has been selected to compete in the 2012 NCAA Division II Men’s Golf Championships, the NCAA announced today. BSU will participate in the Central/West Super Regional scheduled for May 7-9 at Wigwam Resort in Litchfield Park, Ariz.


Bemidji State tops Minnesota, Crookston in duel

On the strength of a two-under-par 70 by senior Danny Menton (Hutchinson, Minn.), the Bemidji State University men’s golf team posted a 17-stroke duel victory over University of Minnesota, Crookston Friday at the par-72, 6,535-yard Bemidji Town and County Club.


Beavers rally; Climb to third at NSIC Championship

Beaver golf ties for sixth at Prairie Star Shootout

PELKIN, Ill. (Pelkin Country Club) -- The Bemidji State University men’s golf team opened its 2012 spring season March 18-19 with a sixth place finish in the Prairie Star Shootout in Pelkin, Ill. The Beavers were led by Danny Menton (Sr., Hutchinson, Minn.) and Casey Hill (Sr., Virginia, Minn.) who tied for ninth place individually at +8 (152).


Bemidji State men’s golf opens spring season in Illinois

The Bemidji State University men’s golf team hits the road this weekend for its first spring tournament, traveling to Pekin, Ill. The Beavers will partake in the Prairie Star Shootout March 18-19 being hosted by the University of Illinois Springfield.


Bemidji State men’s golf receives commitments from two for 2012-13

Bemidji State University men’s golf coach Ekren Miller has announced the addition of Brett Musich (International Falls, Minn.)and Derek Riley (International Falls, Minn.) to the BSU golf program for the 2012-13 season. Both signed National Letters of Intent during the NCAA’s early signing period Nov. 9-16.

Bemidji State men’s golf eyes NSIC championship

The Bemidji State University men’s golf team will begin play in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) championship play this weekend when it travels to Troy Burne Golf Course in Hudson, Wis. A championship unique to the sport and the seasons it occupies, participating teams will log 36 holes this weekend and complete the 72-hole championship with two rounds played April 14-15 at the Jewel Golf Club in Lake City, Minn.

Led by the duo of Casey Hill (Sr., Virginia, Minn.) and Danny Menton (Sr., Hutchinson, Minn.) at eight-over-par, the Bemidji State University men’s golf team placed 16th at the 2011 NSIC/RMAC Crossover Sept. 25-26. The 54-hole event was played at the par-72 6,955-yard Wild Horse Golf Club in Gothenburg, Neb. Sunday the teams played two 18-hole rounds, followed by an 18-hole championship round Monday.


Bemidji State men off to NSIC/RMAC Crossover

The Bemidji State University men’s golf team is back on the road this week (Sept. 25-26) as it travels to Gothenburg, Neb. to compete in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference/Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Crossover. The first tee time for the 54-hole Invite is set for 8 a.m. Sunday at Wild Horse Golf Club. A second round of 18 will also be played Sunday, before a 9 a.m. shotgun start for Monday’s final round.


BSU falls short in final day of SCSU Husky Classic

Led by an even-par 72 from John Hafdal (Fr., Prior Lake, Minn.), the Bemidji State University golf team posted a 300 (+12) at the par-72, 6,924-yard Territories Golf Club Monday and held on to finish tied for second place at the St. Cloud State University (SCSU) Husky Classic.


Bemidji State in second after 18 holes at SCSU Husky Classic

Led by a trio of golfers at three-over-par (75), the Bemidji State University golf team completed the first day of the St. Cloud State University (SCSU) Husky Classic Sunday in second place. The teams played the first 18 holes of the 36-hole tournament at the 6,631-yard, par 72 St. Cloud Country Club.


BSU men’s golf looks to continue roll at St. Cloud State Invite

The Bemidji State University golf team is back on the road Sunday and Monday to compete in the St. Cloud State Invitational. The 36-hole event will take place at St. Cloud Country Club and Territories Golf Club in St. Cloud, Minn. The first tee time for the Invite is set for 11 a.m. Sunday at St. Cloud Country Club. Monday’s championship round will be a 9:30 a.m. shotgun start at Territories Golf Club.


Hill propels Bemidji State to 2011 NSIC Fall Preview title

Casey Hill (Sr., Roseau, Minn.) fired a one-under-par 70 to lead the Bemidji State University men’s golf team to a first-place finish at the 2011 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Fall Preview Monday at Troy Burne Golf Course in Hudson, Wis. Hill finished the event with a 78-70--148 (+6) to tie for third place individually.


Bemidji State men capture 2011 BSU Invitational crown

Junior Andrew Ellefsen (Hugo, Minn.) turned in a two-over-par 74 today to finish third individually, with a 80-74--154 (+10), and lead the Bemidji State University men's golf team to a one-stoke victory over Northern State University in the 2011 BSU Invitational at the Bemidji Town and Country Club. BSU completed the 36-hole event with a 631 (+55).


Bemidji State men lead NSIC Fall Preview; Second at BSU Invitational

The Bemidji State men's golf team split to participate in two events Sunday and Monday and remains in contention to claim team titles in both after the first day of competition. The Beavers’ top five golfers traveled to Hudson Wis. to participate in the NSIC Fall Preview at Troy Burne Golf Course and share the lead with Concordia University-St. Paul, while the remainder of the Bemidji State squad stayed home to host the BSU Invitational and sits just two strokes off the lead after 18 holes at Bemidji Town and Country Club.


BSU men split to compete in two events this weekend

The BSU men's golf team has a busy weekend ahead of it. The team is actually double-booked and will split to participate in two different events, simultaneously, separated by nearly 250 miles. The Beavers are set to host the BSU Invitational at the Bemidji Town and Country Club, while five players will make the trip to Troy Burne Golf Course in Hudson, Wis. to complete in the NSIC Fall Preview. Both 36-hole events will take place Sunday and Monday.


Menton leads Bemidji State to third place finish at Concordia Invite

The Bemidji State golf team opened the 2011 campaign with a third-place finish in the Concordia Invitational Friday and Saturday at Village Green Golf Course in Moorhead, Minn.


BSU men’s golf receives four commitments for 2011-12

The Bemidji State University men’s golf coach Ekren Miller has announced the addition of Nathan Brown (Hamilton, Ontario), Andrew Benson (Minnetonka, Minn.), John Hafdal (Prior Lake, Minn.) and Joe Selle (Minneapolis, Minn.) to the BSU golf program for the 2011-12 season. Brown signed a National Letter of Intent during the NCAA’s late signing period, while Benson, Hafdal and Selle join the Beavers after inking BSU offers of admission.


Former BSU golfer ties for 21st at the MGA Amateur

Former Bemidji State University’s men’s golfer Tom Jenkins placed 21st at the 108th Minnesota Golf Association (MGA) Amateur Championship Wednesday. Jenkins carded an even 71 in the championship round at White Bear Yacht Club to finish the 54-hole tournament tied with four others at five-over-par (71-76-71--218).


Former BSU golfer makes the championship cut at the MGA Amateur

After 36 holes in the tournament and a weather delay on day two of the 108th Minnesota Golf Association (MGA) Amateur Championship at White Bear Yacht Club, former Bemidji State University’s men’s golfer Tom Jenkins remains in contention for the 2011 MGA Amateur Championship tied for 43rd at five-over-par (71-76--147).


BSU golfers position themselves above the cut at the MGA Amateur

After 18 holes of the 108th Minnesota Golf Association (MGA) Amateur Championship at White Bear Yacht Club, a trio of golfers with ties to the Bemidji State University’s men’s golf program remain in the hunt to make the championship round cut.


Bemidji State golfers from past and present to compete in MGA Amateur

When the 108th Minnesota Golf Association Amateur Championship gets underway today at White Bear Yacht Club, the Bemidji State University’s men’s golf team will be represented. The starting field of 156 players includes three players with ties to the BSU golf program. Current Beaver Chris Curb (Jr., Bemidji, Minn.) and 2002 graduate and current volunteer assistant coach Eric Carlson, are participating out of the Bemidji Town and Country Club, while Tom Jenkins, a 1998 graduate, is participating out of Wild Marsh Golf Club in Buffalo, Minn.
